With such a wealth of fresh highland produce on our doorstep its easy to see why the Taste of Mull and Iona Food Festival is such a successful event and now a well established date on the islands calendar.

 'Where to Eat' Guide & Suppliers Guide for 2006.

 

The event began as a low key community project with no budget for activities and events. The project was driven by local communities who wished to market their produce locally. A festival steering group was formed to coordinate the event, supported by MICT and a marketing consultant.

 

Mull & Iona Community Trust, Festival Organisers are delighted to announce that local business CGL Clunie Group Ltd are title sponsor for this year’s Food Festival.

Many local people will have noticed the changes over the years as CGL has evolved from what was essentially Oban Print Shop, Oban Office Supplies and Lochaber Office Supplies to the dynamic one-stop printing and office supplies company it is today. It supports over 2,500 customers throughout Argyll, The Highlands and Islands and Dunbartonshire.

In addition to the head office and centre of operations in Oban, CGL has branches in Fort William and Helensburgh. More recently it acquired Sign & Design, Oban’s leading provider of promotional signage and vehicle livery.

 

 

 

 

About our Festival

We are more aware than ever before that 'we are what we eat' and want to know where food comes from. On Mull & Iona food is from producer to consumer.  We support our local producers for quality, provenance and reduced food miles.  Our visitors enjoy these benefits, keeping our islands thriving. Our specially arranged Festival activities combine our wonderful food with our unique wildlife, giving you the opportunity to experience all that Mull & Iona have to offer. The aim of Mull and Iona food festival is to work with local producers to promote local products for local markets and to work towards creating a generic brand to help to enhance a marketing strategy for the islands.
